The street lights flickered as the military convoy made its way to base. It may of been spring, but the cold front didn't care as it covered the city in a blanket of snow and frost to those unlucky enough to be out on a night like this. She couldn't grasp the reason behind to deliver a weapon of this magnitude in such manner, in her view the plan left them too exposed and them with the U.S military were sitting ducks. Hydra were the one's out for the weapon and the Avengers were the only ones seen as capable to stop them.
For the last two weeks a Hydra team was operating with in the area, news had come in of heroes falling to this group one after another and all incidents had leads to this weapon transport convoy. The warhead convoy was three trucks and two army Humvee's at the front and rear of the transports. The Colonel, the present leader of the Avengers was leading the defence of this warheard and he was stationed in the rear truck. The rest of the team were stationed around the convoy.
The convoy was a hour into its trip and with twenty minutes travel left things were looking hopeful. With luck this Hydra team would not show there face and leave the convoy be. Sue was in the front truck in the back loading area, two of the trucks were decoys and the third that the Colonel was in had the warhead.
Sue stood in the back of the truck just looking out the back as the wheels of the trucks threw the snow in the air, her mind was elsewhere thinking about a warm fire and a hot tea. She was also thinking of the Colonels recent activity, he had been the one who had invited her to be part of the team and had also trained her once joining. She wanted to trust him, but something was stopping her and she put her finger on it. Not willing to take the risk Sue had pulled an old favor with a Shield agent she had once saved to have an outside person accompany them on this mission. If in doubt, get someone with no attachments to the team.
" Thanks again Cap for help," Sue turned to the Captain," Things just aren't adding up and I needed someone outside to help."

The snow hadn't bothered Johnny all that much since the heat of his fire powers kept him warm, he probably would wear a light jacket just in case. But he knew that some people couldn't handle the cold one bit. He wished spring had arrived but it looked like they would have to wait just a bit longer. Night had fallen but the night was far from peaceful like some might have expected over time. Stars twinkled in the sky every once in awhile, but this wasn't the place to day dream or stare up at the night sky.
He wondered if he wasn't he only one who was feeling anxious or fidgety with the constant waiting of the delivery. Apparently the Colonel was a really tough character, you wouldn't want to meet him on the wrong side of the fight...kind of what he thought with Super Soldier. Johnny was waiting with one hand on the side of the truck as if he were making sure it was still there. But for the most part he hadn't used his fire powers knowing he could bring unwanted attention in his direction, which was what they didn't need one bit.
Johnny could hear voices nearby as he heard his sister talking to someone, he knew complaining wasn't the best thing to do right now either. But he had no idea how long they were going to wait by the trucks this night, was it going to be a few hours? Like his sister he couldn't help but have this nagging feeling that something wasn't right and it was really starting to bother him. So he finally took those instincts into action to go speak to his sister, trying to muster up the courage wasn't easy, but fighting bad guys seemed like it was nothing. "Heay Sue, is everything alright? ...I know I'm not supposed to bother you....but I have a bad feeling about this. Like Spider-Man's Spidey sense bad." Johnny pointed out knowing that this sort of thing couldn't be ignored. But they had to wait for the arrival and they might as well become the protection party if something went wrong. They'd be ready for it.
"Oh, sorry if I'm interrupting something here." He said realizing that Sue was talking with the Colonel at the same time. Still these things couldn't be ignored not one bit.
As the saying went, it was quiet, too quiet for their own good.

At first, Steve hadn’t exactly been so certain of stepping in to help the Avengers despite being their liaison between SHIELD and the prospering team. He had felt they needed time to be able to learn to work together and handle themselves rather than entirely relying on the aid of someone older than themselves…or well, as far as they needed to know someone of military background and higher up in SHIELD. They seemed to have that covered in terms of experience with the Colonel who Steve had found was highly recommended and highly decorated from his own military days. So why was he here after initially being adamant about it?
It was one word: HYDRA. Sue’s SHIELD contact had known what word to say to someone else to pull strings and Steve had quickly suited up, packed some things, and moved swiftly to rendezvous with the team. Some several hours later, Steve was sitting in one of the decoy convoys, currently with the Avengers awaiting for something to happen. It was dark, cold, and eerily quiet, making Steve’s skin crawl with unease, knowing this silence one times too many from his war days and the times SHIELD had seemed too calm from time to time.
His thoughts went to his last days in the second World War, recalling the biting, chilly waters rushing into the crashed jet, bombarding his head, chest, and back with making him feel as if he was suffocating. Those were the last moments in his war career before he was found and took a long time to recover from, especially with expecting his last act as a war hero to mean the end of HYDRA’s reign. Yet, here they were in the modern day with threats of HYDRA in the past week. ‘Cut off one head, two take it’s place. I never thought this would hold true.’ Steve thought to himself, resting a hand subconsciously on his belt pocket where his old metal compass was, holding the pictures of two dear people he had lost over the years : his closest friend Bucky Barnes and the former love of his life Peggy Carter who had died of old age where Steve could not. But someone speaking to him soon snapped Steve back to reality.
“With all due respect Invisible Woman, Captain America was my grandfather, I go by Super Soldier.” Steve corrected her politely, but he was not rude and simply smiled. “Or just call me Nathan. But it’s no problem, HYDRA has always been a concern in my family, I am just shocked they would indeed have come back like they always said.” Steve told her, giving a slight frown since his mask was no on and his eye brows furrowed as he did wonder why things seemed to be going all too smoothly. They were a tempting target and HYDRA was taking far longer than expected to attack.
But he turned as he heard Johnny, merely waving a hand. “Its fine Torch, you aren’t really interrupting anything. Your sister was just thanking me for coming along is all.” Steve assured him, giving the young man a curious expression since he had once known of another Human Torch of the past, but this one hadn’t exactly been human. “Though, I do share your concerns. I respect your leader’s outstanding record as a military man and for what he has done for the Avengers, but…I wonder if he’s making the right call.”

Mar-vell flew high above the convoy and looked down upon it carefully. While he was a member of the Avengers, he did not feel close to the team. Having fought in so many cosmic level battles, died and returned to life, made it hard to empathize and understand the concerns of his human team mates. They were certainly all good people, with good hearts, but he felt he had very little in common with them. Lately he had been pondering his role on earth at all. He had concerned simply going to live on Titan permanently or some other destination where he could seek out peace. But humanity, with all their flaws, and their beautiful potential still called out to him. He knew what wonders their future held, but it was a long way to go to get there, and he sometimes had his doubts if they would make it.
They were particularly poor at handling dangerous substances. Pollution, nuclear weapons and wastes, poisons and nerve gasses. Every time they came up with one they seemed to either spill it all over the damned place, or choose to use it against each other or against innocent civilians. The race didn't have a warrior code like his kree ancestors, and they really could have used it. Millions upon millions of humans had died from these thoughtless and downright stupid acts, and so far, although the rate had slowed, there seemed to be no end of that behaviour in sight. Sooner or later they had to figure it out, he thought to himself.
He had no concern with petty crime, and even organizations like SHIELD and HYDRA meant little in the big scheme of things. But transporting a nuclear weapon through a populated area where millions or tens of millions of people could lose their lives if something went wrong, that got his attention. He had full confidence that his teammates on the ground could handle just about anything Hydra could throw at them, but it couldn't hurt to have him fly "high guard" for a few hours. Just in case.

Sue smiled to Johnny as he entered, but her attention shifted back to Steve, he could call himself what ever he wanted and she'd still know the truth. The joys of owning a company and having intelligence of your own. But she'd do it again in a heart in hopes of him slipping up. " Since joining the Avengers, Storm industries have invested a fair bit of money in to the Avengers program and with it I have begun to update a lot of the systems plus the equipment to ones Storm Industries have suppliers or contracts with. Money wise it's logic." Sue paused, she didn't want to continue , hell she didn't even want to believe it " I've kept this secret to only those in Storm industries Security, I had to be sure I got it right and...",Sue paused to take breath and to collect words, " All Avenger records were daily been transferred to an outside network till this morning. At first I taught it was Shield, but my personal security have backtracked it in secret to a known Hydra operative."Sue ran her fingers through her hair as a lump formed in her throat. It wasn't fear that she felt, but the idea that the future of the Avengers was been held on a knife edge. " There's a traitor with in the Avengers, " her eyes stayed locked on to Steve's, " He's always two steps ahead or he was till this morning. The information points to ..."The Colonel interrupted Sue with a calm and collective voice over the radio with prefect timing as the convoy came to a stop in the center of the street. " All personal converge at the front of the convoy, the warhead gone,"Sue didn't wait as she jump out of the truck with dread and ran to the front of the convoy where the Colonel stood with half the military personnel who had joined them. Sue stood her distance, not wanting to get too close to the Colonel and the soldiers with him. The Colonel stood there as calm as ever, as if no warhead was missing. Say what? Was something going on here? Sue may have given a smile to her younger brother like that, but there was something else at play here. As Johnny listened his hand hung onto the door as he listened to what his sister had to say. Apparently it was serious and important at the same time. usually when his sister came, Johnny usually learned to listen and it was important this time as well. Sighing he looked back at Nathan as he listened to the others as they spoke. As Sue finished they heard what sounded like a voice on the overhead speaker phones calling for the Avengers to come out and meet the others.
"So it looks like we were right having to worry like this. Something is wrong." He said in a soft whisper hoping that there weren't others listening in.
...He couldn't take it anymore, if there was a bad guy here that they had to deal with they were going to have to take him down one way or another. "Sue wait a minute...we can do this...together that's why we're a tea-" He was cut off before his sister left the truck. She had been upset by this pretty badly as he looked back at Nathan one more time. He didn't blame her for being nervous and upset finding out that there was a traitor amongst the group. If this guy called the Militant was trouble, he'd send a fire ball right into his face for getting his sister so upset and anxious over all of this.
"I guess we better go out and see what's going on....flame on!" He called out as he took a few steps back as his body lit up a bright flaming yellow. It was hard to miss but he wanted to be ready if some form of action took place as he flew after the others. He did notice that someone was flying up further in the sky. He couldn't tell who they were, but if they were apart of the Avengers, they'd need him soon for help. Things were going to turn ugly soon. He quickly followed after his sister, not sure if Nathan or the others were going to follow. They were starting to tread in darkness very soon and it'd get even worse before things would turn good.

Steve listened intently as he looked back at Sue, meeting her gaze with his own as she began going into great detail about Storm Industries and their contribution to the team. From what he knew it was Storm Industries that was making it possible for the Avengers to function properly, their equipment, suits, and living place was all paid for and run carefully. In a sense, Steve felt that Sue was sort of a de-facto second-in-command to the Colonel and their financial supervisor in a sense. He could admire and appreciate such dedication for a ragtag team, having not seen that much dedication in some time.
But his eyes narrowed as Sue seemed to become worried and anxious, especially realizing that any information on the Avengers was going to a source it shouldn’t. HYDRA had wormed its way into the Avengers team! His hands clenched tightly, and if his knuckles could have been seen there was no doubt they were turning white from high tightly clenched Steve had them. It didn’t get much better when it was made evident there was a traitor. Not a traitor, a spy. Someone was spying on the team, using them, maybe even preparing to take them out before they became a major threat.
Before Sue could fully explain who it was leading to the Colonel called, perhaps in an all too calm manner, and too perfect of timing. Steve watched Sue’s form leave the convoy before he stood, casting a quick glance to Johnny, sharing the young man’s concerns and his gave having a dark look in them. Steve didn’t like this.
Jumping out from the back, he scanned the area at first, seeing they were stopped right in the middle of the street. That made them an easy target. Quickly, his gaze went upwards, hoping the member, Captain Marvel, would come down close enough to act or at the very least had good reaction time if trouble were to brew as he made his way towards the Storm siblings and watching the Colonel, his stance spoke of calmness, which Steve would welcome if it didn’t seem all too convenient with his call, that they were stopped out in the open, and that he had half the soldiers assigned to the convoy beside him. All in all, Steve felt something was in fact horribly wrong. But he paused beside Sue, leaning near her to whisper something too low for others to hear, “First sign of trouble throw up a force field Ms.Storm, and make sure your Avengers are ready.” Steve murmured before he rested a firm grip on her shoulder to show he would be ready as well before he stepped a few feet closer to the Colonel.
Without missing a beat, Steve had his arm his kite-shaped shield was connected to slightly aloft at his hip, partly raised if something happened. The red energy the shield could emit visible on it’s bottom sharp point. “Seems rather sloppy if no one bothered to check the warhead was in your truck to begin with Colonel.” Steve told him, keeping his tone casual and nonchalant, but his eyes continuously examining the group. “But if HYDRA does have the warhead we’re not safe being out in the open like this. I’d have to implore you to continue on before they figure out where we are.” Steve insisted politely, eyes flicking to the soldiers. “Or at the very least these soldiers should be back at their posts.”
Part of Steve knew something was wrong, something perhaps about to happen. Perhaps there was something more to Colonel than what was seen just as there was more to “Nathan” than most probably knew. But Sue’s quick change of state in the convoy had him suspicious of who she was hinting at or if somehow it may deal with Colonel and his own connections.

At the words "warhead gone" Mar-vell flew straight down to the front of the convoy leaving a long streak of glowing starlight behind him. He landed on the opposite side of the Colonel and his soldiers from where Sue stood. He had a clearly angry look on his face.
"I have no time for games Colonel. I suggest you let us know just where this warhead is or how you plan to track it, this is a monumental threat to life and property. " His words were clipped and harsh. He would look to Sue to lead the team, but he had no hesitation in expressing himself. He had spent a lifetime in the military and he knew that some soldiers were worthy and honourable and some had as many flaws as any other man. So far he was unimpressed with this officer and this operation. They had not been given nearly enough information to do their job properly and that would hamper the best of operations.
His eyes scanned over Sue, Johnny and Steve. They were all quality individuals. There was no leak or problem amongst them. The team had not been together very long, but he knew character when he saw it, and he was confident that any of that group would act honourably if called upon.
He put his hands on his hips and stared at the Colonel. While his eyes were focussed there his Cosmic Awareness reached out for blocks around them. If there was anyone out there with hostile intent or moving against them they would be quite visible to him. He looked at Sue, waiting for her direction.

Jamie met up with Sue .Johnny and Rick and sits with them just listening to what was going on all of this was pretty crazy. The team was important to her more then anything if there is a traitor in their ranks she is going have to find out who that was. She didn't want to say anything unless asked .She was just waiting on orders before she did anything crazy it was just how she was thought to deal with these simulations as she placed her arms beside her.She had her fist clenched as they flared little bit with as she stared towards the ground as her teeth grit. She was trying to keep in control of her emotions. She can't do this while she should be more calm with this because if she loses control it could be really bad for everyone.
She then looked as they got up she decided to finally speak up which was not normal for her during any kind of mission she didn't usually talk unless spoken to first while she was in mission mode"...Any orders is there something I need to be doing ?" She waited of course for the answer like she should. She was really respectful she was mostly speaking to anyone wanted to answer her. She wanted do something helpful instead of nothing because it was kind of frustrating to her.

The Colonel stood there watching the team and the remaining soldiers still loyal to the Super Soldier. He stood there gloating with a smile as soldiers loyal to him took defensive positions, "Your making a habit of this MS Storm," from his backpack the Colonel took a red and black shield unlike his normal blue,"My biggest mistake was letting your company fund us, I had taught your company would of been an easy target. But ever since then are plans for the Avengers have gone up in smoke and all thanks to you." With his shield in one hand he pointed his finger at her and spoke with a pure hate she had only seen once before and that had been in Victor when he went mad. "I rose in the ranks all these years and the moment I manage to gain leadership of the Avengers you fucked it up Susan, you and your protocols since day one has been nothing but a pain." his hate was blind as he looked upon her,"Your company having a say has stopped my Avengers been what it should of been and you against my command let Aliens and diseased infect the ranks. But most of all I hate that ever since I became leader, your company has stopping my Hydra brothers from helping the Avengers reach there true potential. I had a dream and now I'm left with this makeshift plan. " He spat to ground as his eyes turned to Steve, Sue he hate but Steve revolted him and finally been able to express that hate gave him relief. "But your betrayal I can never forgive," his eyes locked on to Steve's as he continued his rant,"I was to be Captain America, me and me alone, I gave everything I had to the armed forces and what do I have to show. " he then screamed, "All my life I followed in his footsteps, I worshipped him like a god and I finally know why." Reaching his hands out as if ready to greet god he screamed,"I am the incarnation of Captain America and you Super Soldier have spit on his memory, everytime I was with in reach of been Captain America your name always seemed to be there in my way. Then in spite you continue to work for a corrupt people that want to leave us vulnerable. I will not let you destroy his name, I will take the name America and I will continue his dream of peace for are world with the knowledge that Hydra was never the real enemy. I am the new Cap.." Before he could finish naming himself or even Steve spoke out, Sue stepped forward and shouted out, "Your a traitor and A unless Hydra Militant," Sue grinned at that word, she had him and she'd brand him with a different name, "You want a name Colonel, there you go it's Militant. A unless Hydra Militant." Sue felt a fear run down her body as she stood there, thoughts and memories flooded back of the time the Fantastic Four had broke up before it even started. She still felt the guilt of not given the team a chance and letting anger control her. But Johnny was here, that alone reminded her of the times she had stood up against her father to protect him and he had been her only family after their mothers death. These Avengers were now her family, she needed to show that she still believe in them and not to let the former Colonel disgrace there name or break there family up. "So you're a jealous tag along who was trying to be a copy cat of the Avenger's noble Captain America? I don't know to feel sorry for you or feel horrible for you." Johnny said as he had his arms crossed. He really really didn't like this guy as he looked back at the Colonel. Sure he and Benjamin, or the Thing didn't always get along when the Fantastic Four had been around for a short time, but this was different. Johnny didn't like him period for ordering his sister like he was. Sue had come so far, and this curve ball was blown right in his face.
And to make matters worse he disrespected Super Soldier, who he thought was a pretty cool guy from the looks of things. "But I like what my sister's name for you. It fits. You're nothing but a soldier for Hydra and that's all you'll ever be. As for us, we're the Avengers, we defend those who can't help themselves. When no one else can, who will stop and save earth? I've always liked that about the Avengers." Johnny said as he looked around with his flaming body to see who else was there. Not everyone on the Avengers was there, but a majority of the team had decided to come and help out on Sue. She was never alone, and she knew that now.
"And if you want to get to my sister you have to get through the Human Torch, Colonel, unless you can stand the heat of about 3,000 degrees ferienhet. Last I checked that'd burn you to ashes." Johnny said as he stepped forward to try and protect his sister. Sue had protected him most of his life now it was his turn to return the favor. And he wasn't about to let her say no for an answer on this time around.
He half wondered if the others would step up like Marvel, Flameshadow, surely Super Soldier would too? He was about to snap this guy in half it was the last thing he did. He couldn't help but worry if he was in this alone. And from the looks of things, he wasn't. The whole Avengers had his and his sister's back. Or he'd and his sister'd be damned if they didn't.

Jamie stood right away as soon as the Colonel insulted Sue and Super Solider and her eyes flared red as flames started to lightly come from her body she was very angry. She was very close to losing control of herself at moment to the point where she could really hurt the the guy before them. The woman emotions were getting high up there and she was ready to really hurt the guy then she raises her voice at him " How dare you ..You insult the honor of Captain America and The Avengers Johnny is right we can help ourselves ...and I will not let you harm of them ..I will not let you get away That!!!..." The woman had trouble controlling herself when angered and she could turn right out monstrous she was really wanting to hurt the guy but also she could really hurt everyone here.
She was losing her control of herself ready to really hurt someone but this was not very good for her even if the guy deserved it if she killed the guy it would really hurt her. She was being really scary at moment she was ready to strike like a snake at its prey. the anger she was having was part of effects of what was done to her when she was in the lab. The fact was she was super protective of her the people she respect and thought as her family and she will get really aggressive if one of them was threaten in anyway.

Worshipped him? Thought him a god? Followed in his footsteps? Everything the Colonel said completely disgusted and appalled Steve, more so than ever seeing or fighting Red Skull had. At least he had shown a hatred for Steve, believed him simply wrong for not embracing his change and being above other men but this…’He’s completely lost his sanity.’ Steve thought to himself, realizing just how mad and insane this man was. He not only insulted Sue Storm, who had dedicated all her time and effort into the Avengers, but also spotted utter nonsense and delusions. And what effect did this have on Steve? He was disgusted and furious.
“You speak of emulating a man who would be utterly against what you are doing Colonel. If you knew the real HYDRA, truly understood what they stood for than you wouldn’t be so gun-ho to join their cause, or at least if you were in your right mind.” Steve said, his tone calm but now colder than ice, eyes narrowed as he kept his gaze locked with the newly dubbed Militant. “You allowed HYDRA to use you as nothing more than a guinea pig and betrayed your country. If you wanted to be a true Captain America, you could have used your skills and knowledge in a much different way. Captain America wasn’t about power or being a god, he was a man who fought for his country no matter what, not allow fanatics to overrun his country from the inside out! And he certainly wouldn’t insult a woman, no matter who she was!” Steve responded, voice firm but never rising to a yell.
He could feel Johnny’s and Jamie’s flames within their close proximities, knowing they were angered and he could only imagine how Sue was feeling aside from her obvious anger at the betrayal. But the Avengers…they had to be prepared for something more. HYDRA never allowed one man to do this alone, much less trust their low ranking lackies to carry out something this complex. “No Avengers, the Militant is mine. He not only spits on the memory of Captain America but James Barnes and the Howling Commandos. He wants to make this personal, he’s going to get it.” Steve spoke, tightening his hold on the shield handle, eyes narrowed. “Handle any others he might have lurking, and sure as hell check the convoy where the warhead was. HYDRA never has just one of their experiments working alone.”
With that said, Steve charged passed the assembled Avengers, making his way right for Militant, shield ready but not yet raising it. The Militant wanted to duke it out old school, then that was exactly what they would be doing.

THE Militant former Colonel
As Steve charged the Militant who had been the Colonel, the Militant just laughed and he had half expected he'd need a back up plan just encase. Raising his Shield which held a Hydra symbol he spoke loud and clear for all to hear.
"You attack me now, my soon to be Avengers will detonate the warhead," he gave a laugh as if feeling that he had finally got the one up on them, "The minute Sue contacted you Supersoldier, I realised my original plan to takeout the New York military base was never going to happen."
Sue realising what was at stake formed a barrier between Steve and their former leader. Realising this he stood there before Steve gloating with a smile,
"You'll get your chance puppet," he mocked Steve, "But not yet, As I said I had to do a change of plans do to you two. If I can't takeout the military, I'll just have to show the world on live TV how weak you Avengers are. "
As the Militant laughed, the twenty guards on his side pulled Hydra masks over their heads, the ten still loyal to Steve stood behind the Avengers awaiting the time to shoot.
"Liberty Island, your sweet warhead was gone before we left," he brought his face closer to the barrier Sue had formed while Istill gloating, "In one hour the modified warhead will go off releasing a toxin over New York,"
"MY TO BE AVENGERS WILL BE THERE WAITING FOR YOUR RUNTS AND PUPPET," he screamed with pride, "I'll prove to you all that Hydra is the way forward, order is peace."
A black motorbike appeared which stopped behind the militant and as he walked back to the car he spoke while still keeping his eyes on steve,
"If I don't make it to Liberty Island they release the warhead, so don't try to stop me," with a smirk grin he looked down on Steve as if he was below him, raising his Shield he spoke one last time, "Hail Hydra and Hail the new Captain America."
With that the motorbike took off heading in the direction of liberty island, which now had a green light shining up to the night sky like a beacon for New York to see and news choppers supplying the breaking news.
Sue Storm
Sue was all to willing to let Steve beat the Militant black and blue. But she couldn't take the risk and no matter what she wanted she needed to play his game. Like it or not the Militant held all the cards and the people of New York were the prize.
"Sorry Supersoldier but we need to play his game," Sue spoke in reply as the militant escaped.
As the bike drove off Sue looked at the Hydra thugs remaining and gave her first order as leader of the Avengers.
"Avengers, take them down,"
Sues earpiece buzzed from a call from her SHIELD contact, with a barrier around her she listened to the call with every word and once she hung up she called to Steve,
"Supersoldier," Sue called as she approached him while disregarding the Hydra thugs, "That hole conversation just there made it to every news network by live stream. My friend in SHIELD just told me that till further notice SHIELD is going to want the Avengers to surrender for questioning to see if theirs are any more Hydra agents in the Avengers and they want none of use near Liberty Island."
Sue didn't want to ask the question, but she be damned if she'd let someone spit in there face and get away with it. She was sure he felt the same.
"No offense but SHIELD can be damned, this team Hydra five is not getting are name," Sue demanded as she reached her hand out for him to take hold off hoping he'd agree."There's a reason were called the Avengers, it's time them and Hydra see why. It's not just are name at stake."

"And they're just gonna let this guy go like that? You do release half of New York...or even worse more of the world could be set off into another explosion...killing thousands. That's the last thing we need." Johnny said with concern knowing things had gone from bad to worse in a matter of minutes. Other super heroes would find out but it might be too late to tell them by then on what happened. Johnny had done his homework like Sue had said, and he perhaps hadn't realized until just now why Sue had asked him to do those things. She had wanted him to be ready and to not let his guard down.
But he could also feel the flames coming off of Jamie she was starting to loose control but since the Colonel was gone now and he realized if something wasn't done she may loose control of the flames. Super Soldier seemed to have the Colonel taken care of, and he wouldn't stand in the heroes way. He respected him just as any younger hero would have, Johnny had tons of time to make a name for himself like some of the older Avengers had so he wasn't worried. He could've left him black and blue.
But this Colonel was nuts. Insanity was not his specialty.
"Jamie, you've got to control yourself. Stay calm. Think of your happy place, and a place that is safe. I know because I've lost control a few times myself with my flames. Just try it." Johnny asked knowing fire powers could often be difficult to control. Once let loose there might be no way of stopping it any time soon. But he wondered if it was too late, he could absorb some of Jamie's powers but not all of them, it was going to be a challenge.
"Heay Sue, we might wanna alert the other Avenger members, any friends and allies may help, so we've got eyes and ears all over New York." Johnny suggested, as he came over to her side, but he kept his distance knowing his flames would hurt them. "Sue are you alright?" He asked noticing that really must've hurt her. But she was strong. He hoped that this hadn't been a problem but it looked like they needed all the help they could get at this point in time.
