Rebellious and Reckless (Jamie)

New York sure was a bustling city. Except for the part that had been forgotten about where he got out of the hellicarrier to play hooky. Sam wasn’t really one to ditch school or anything, but it was a Saturday for crying out loud! They shouldn’t be locked up in a hellicarrier, and that was just wrong in so many ways. Carefully the teen brought out his skate board that he brought with him before he packed his things, he glided down some of the streets past a couple of by standers who were pretty much annoyed at the teen for doing some risky things. He was out as a civillian while he took a break from being a super hero for a day, or at least wearing the suit. Sam didn’t seem to hear the people that were yelling at him, or he just ignored them, and on his back was his backpack holding the Nova helmet inside it as he rested it carefully between a couple of other items like a few snacks and a water bottle, heay it’s best to be prepared right?


“Watch where you’re going punk!” A voice called out but by then it had already been too late. The collision was unavoidable on that Saturday morning as the two slammed into each other. As Sam found himself on his back looking up at the sky he swore that he saw stars flashing in his eyes. He was dazed for a bit and made a mental note to himself, ‘Note to self the helmet doesn’t work when it’s not on.’ He muttered to himself and rubbed his eyes feeling on his hands where bruises had come there. Next to him papers must’ve flooded out of someone’s brief case and went all over the street. Had he collided with some busy business man by accident?


“I’m so sorry about that. I’ll try to be more careful where I skate.” He said trying to pick up the pieces of paper but it was clear the business man wasn’t going to take no for an answer as he looked at the young teen with anger in his eyes.

“You’re nuts! Kids these days should be in school not running around like a bunch of monkies!” He said as he grabbed his papers that were apparently really important documents of some time. But Sam wasn’t interested.


“Geez lighten up.” He mumbled. As the man walked away, he brushed himself off, Sam really wanted to give him a punch or two, but he knew S. H. I. E. L. D. would frown upon that with a young cadet like himself. He picked up his backpack which had been hurled not far from him and so with his skate board. He felt a little bit bruised, but he knew he’d recover in a couple of days. Besides, he honestly thought training left him sore for several days the way they pushed him so hard.

The woman was out and was helping set up for her autograph signing event at the mall even though she didn't have to help. She knew that there would be a lot of people out today since it was a saturday and a lot of her fans were out and about.The city life for her was pretty great when the usually stuff didn't happen but life would be boring then.She sits down at the table just waiting on anyone to come up to her she loved her fans so much that she would sign a autograph even on the streets.

The Avengers did keep her pretty busy as which was her true calling she saw this not as her job but her duty being a heroine was just as important to her as for anything else in world.She actually pushed herself really at times to the point where was been exhausted at time even though she was been told that she didn't have to. She was the type that didn't like to disappoint people it was kind of thing for her and she was willing to help when she didn't really have too. Jamie was staring off in space not really paying attention to anything at moment or someone being at her table at moment since just set up didn't expect someone right away.

If there was one thing that could distract a teenager was the mall at that point, his day hadn’t exactly started right but he hoped that the next part of his Saturday would continue to get better. Sam continued to skate toward it but got off knowing it might as well be a rule that he wasn’t supposed to skate there with everyone coming and going. He already eyed a lot of things he would’ve liked (Except for the part where he forgot he was broke) things like video games, music and even a game arcade, he felt a little bit overwhelmed. However, he did notice not far from where he was that there were a few people setting up shop.

It looked like they were selling some books, but quite frankly he really wasn’t a book reader by any means. “Um excuse me what’s going on here?” He asked at least trying to sound a bit more polite compared to the other guy he met on the street. He could see an older looking woman helping them out, he seemed innocent enough. “I’m sorry if I’m curious this has been my first time being here. I actually live in Arizona,” He added, ah great now he really was sounding like a tourist.

But as Sam tried to drum up a conversation with the woman, known as Jamie he felt his Helmet activate, the Xandrian helmet had a mind of its own sometimes and it appeared to be working on something without his knowledge. It vibrated softly but it had been muffled behind his back. He knew that he couldn’t look at it now in public; it’d ruin the whole secret identify job that he had working with S. H. I. E. L. D. Well what he hadn’t known was the helmet had detected a few thugs that were starting to enter the mall as it had its own affiliation detection system. But these guys seemed to have themselves suspiciously covered with tan coat, and hats to cover their faces. Maybe they were trying to rob the mall, while the place was full?

Jamie looked up towards a boy's voice when asked what was going on. She already had her cutout and sign telling everyone what was going on at this place.she was a publicly known Rockstar but she also knew not everyone is her fan and of course won't know Phoenix Blaze she even requested her friends just call her Jamie.She just smiled speaks as clearly as she could being  cheerful" hello ,it's quite alright Kid I am Phoenix Blaze well as for what's going on it's a autograph signing you want one and you're in luck you get a free copy of my new CD kid"she picked up one of her cds and takes out a pen.

She was actually pretty cheerful as her civilian persona and today she was giving out 100. She didn't actually mind that Sam was the first one it was hours from her actual signing. She was used to questions and was willing to answered anything she was asked she wasn't offended at least. She had her eyes on him she did notice the the shady men but was keeping quiet but was making sure she was watching their move just in case they were going to shoot up the mall. She heard the muffled buzzing in the boys bag "uh Kid I think your phone is going off "She was trying to think of good excuse to leave the table if he goes to answer so she could go to investigate.

“A free copy? Thanks. I guess today isn’t such a bad day after all.” He said having figured today must’ve been a good day to stop by the mall. Sure there were plenty of things to buy but there were also some freebie items going on as well that shouldn’t be looked over either. However, the next part surprised him as, not his phone was ringing but it was actually his helmet detecting the oncoming bad guys. But he could see how someone would think about that. “Oh right, I should probably answer that. It got left off on vibrate yesterday from when I went to school.” He added knowing it had been partially true but he cut out the part on where he had been going to SHIELD for learning how to be a super hero. Well with the new bad guys that jut arrived might be helpful in putting that idea to the test.

Quickly Sam backed up finding himself in a small area that looked like a bit of a storage room. He put his backpack down so it wouldn’t get damaged, and his skate board before putting on his helmet and activated his Nova Force abilities. After flying out again he found himself face to face with the bad guys, there appeared to only be a couple of them as he hovered in place, clearly standing this close was a bit of a stupid idea. “Um pretty sure the signs on the wall don’t say it’s a free for all for shady looking thuds-woah.” He said just managing to dodge an oncoming rifle looking weapon as he fired near him; apparently they were armed and dangerous. And SHIELD should probably know about them too.

When Sam had left to answer his"phone"she decided that she needed to slip away also. She got from the table and then told the other people " i have somewhere to be i will be back " She told they just nodded little bit continued with work. She goes off where people couldn't see her which was in a broom closet takes out her goggles out of her pocket and placed them over her eyes and made sure her comm card was inside of one of compartments in her belt just in case she needed to call her fellow Avengers. She was going really quick for his since she didn't want those thugs to get away.Jamie was almost always ready for anything to happen if was entier to be called to go after an alien attack

When she heard the gunshots her eyes widen and she takes out her hoverboard and makes it extend jumps on it and flew towards courtyard seeing those three men with the guns and another her who was almost shot.She first looked toward the younger hero " you ok ...kid She wasn't too fond of the guns in fact she hated guns despite her training in she didn't like to use them at all.She then shouted at them "hey there punks you shouldn't playing with those things how about I get rid of them for you " she then snapped her fingers making sparks between fingers and created a large fireball and throws it spinning towards one of the men's guns.

She hoped that that would force them let go of their gun of shock. She didn't want to cause any more panic than their already was at first shot as the people in the area where running for cover scared.The civilians were the people she was mostly worried she was trying her best to get the simulation resolved.These men were apparently wanting to cause some kind of chaos by attacking this mall.

It wasn’t long before Nova wound up being not the only super hero there, another woman with blonde hair arrived on the scene shortly after him. He had never seen her before, but from the looks of things she was on the same side as him as well, these bad guys better get a run for their money trying to ruin a fun day of fun for many people at the mall. Sam nodded back to Jamie, “Yeah I’m alright it just surprised me was all.” He admitted knowing he probably should’ve thought twice before getting that close.

While the guys were busy firing their rounds, it was clear they didn’t see the next part coming as Jamie sent a fire ball in their direction. The closest guy nearly dropped it as the weapon fell down to the ground. He knew this was risky, but he felt like it could be done. Sam flew forward a fast as his form could go and took the gun away before the guy could get to it and he was stunned to see the reaction on how the two worked together to try and stop them. “Looking for this? You guys really have no idea why they call me a human rocket just yet.” Sam said with a teasing tone as he flew back towards the one guy who dropped his weapon and gave him a sharp upper cut in the chin before knocking him to the ground while the other guys got out of the way to try and spread out from the oncoming fire, they all looked a little stunned by that.

“You know lady you, if you and I are fighting these guys; we could at least do a temporary team up. The name’s Nova by the way.” He said wondering if the woman would accept it or not. There were only a couple of thugs left from the looks of things, and they looked like a great way to take out their rage if they had any of it.

Jamie suddenly had to veer away from being shoot as the incoming bullets came her way while at the same time making sure the other hero beside her is doing ok. The guy she was fighting pretty well side reminded of her teammate mostly because of the helmet plus the guy was called himself Nova and she just nodded towards him " Sure and I am Flameshadow, Nova huh my teammate on the Avengers shares that name and also let's take these guys out huh "She saw that there wasn't that many of the men but she wanted to see if this kid could hold up on his end.She wanted to see him in more action she was already impressed.She wanted do little showboating for the other hero which not how a Avenger should behave and more child-like she wanted the kid to think she is cool.

She then smirked towards and reared her hoverboard back and rushed one of the guys to ram them with her hover order to knock him over which is a very reckless move since she didn't wear protect she could really hurt herself but she didn't care. if the guy dove she would fall off the hoverboard and take a hard fall and go into a roll but she knew how fall with seriously hurting herself but it still put her in danger since she had to recover from the fall.

"Wait a minute, you know someone else who has that name too?" Sam asked a bit surprised by that. But he had to admit she was pretty good on the way she handled things here. He watched her carefully as she shot forward with her hover board and knocked into the guy. It looked as if the guy didn't even know what hit him as he nearly fell over and stumbled. Some how it was a miracle that he still had his weapon left. "But you guys really didn't pick a bad day to try and come to the mall. I bet you didn't even know there were some heroes here." Sam said as he flew forward at one of them while Jamie had taken care of stunning them, he opened up one of his hands to fire a blue nova blast as it knocked him to the ground and with his other hand he punched the guy pretty hard on the shoulder knocking this other one to the ground.

"Flameshadow these guys don't seem so bad, they seem pretty easy." He said which was kind of odd, even he knew that villains like Dr. Doom were no laughing matter. But he saw a red flash on his helmet as he frowned realizing some more were coming, "Flameshadow, look out!" He called out knowing more gunfire might be on their way. Apparently they had back up.

When the guy was knocked over by her hoverboard she jumped off it and twirled it and placed it back on her belt and kind of grinned smugly holstered it into her belt.She looked towards Nova and nodded little bit towards him " Yea now metioned it does seem a bit--- Whoah !!! Aghh......" She narrowly dodged but not without getting hit in shoulder and leg by the oncoming gunfire. She was intense pain but as she quickly stumble took covered to avoid to getting hurt any farther.

There was at least about ten more guys and civilians were in danger which will not stand for she had to hold on bit longer.She was gritting her teeth not caring if she was injured her weakness in this fight she had no bullet proof armor under her suit.She then looked towards Nova she knew that he will be fine but she still was worried for both their Safety then her injury her determination was keeping her from falling over.She attempted to used her powers from behind the pillar sending stream of flames.

"Are you alright Flameshadow? That looked like it hurt, and I mean hurt." Sam asked showing some concern for his new found friend. He looked like he had it on his face for sure. But he couldn't get close to try and help her out. But apparently she had it under control herself as she sent forth a large amount of flames in the direction of the bad guys. And like that they began to scramble, he was pretty sure he got the smell of something burning like the clothing material that they wore. As the fire brew something else caught their attention.

"Let's scram we wasted enough time here!" One guy called out as Sam looked a bit relieved. "SHIELD. I called SHIELD earlier but as always they make horrible timing." He said noticing the hovering plane over head as SHIELD made their enterance to try and round up the bad guys before they got away. If they were apart of the current mafia this would've been bad news. Sam quickly flew over towards Flameshadow to make sure she was alright hoping she was, "Are you alright? SHIELD's got some good medics that can help out that wound." He offered knowing that SHIELD had just about everything on their hellicarrier.

Jamie slides down the wall and falls over the ground finally and lied there on her back.She goes to reach into her belt for her comm card to call for help she heard that he already called for help.She then looked up towards him "...I think i better let the medics help me " She had been shot before she had put her guard down too soon was willing to let SHIELD help her of course .Jamie had beef with them and had no reason not to trust them just yet.She was trying not to show any weakness at moment even though the battle was done for she had been reckless on her part for not being careful and wanting to show off.
