Personality: Despite Johnny's harsh and sad past, Johnny seems to be alright with his life. He is usually the happy and comical type trying to set some humorous jokes down even if they aren't needed. He can often be head strong and stubborn, but at that age it isn't out of the norm. He is usually determined to work on things that he enjoys like working on race cars, or even going with the Fantastic four for an adventure or too. However, he has often struggled with school work for some of the time, but only in college did he realize that he needed to start being serious if he wanted to be a professional race car driver. As of right now, Johnny is going to a New York college to try and become a car engineer. It has been working out for the most part, but often times he finds himself putting his work down and not focusing on it, but usually he gets right up again.
After Sue left, he was pretty upset that she decided to go on her own. But with the recent news going on that she is joining the Avengers and working with them. He thought if he could join the Avengers, even if only part time he might be able to help them out and to see his sister a bit more often. Even if he doesn't show it, he wants to spend more time with her and make sure everything is alright. They had an incredibly close bond, probably about as close as you can get with siblings, and no matter how far apart they were, he always thought of her and wondered if she was alright. Johnny also has his own catch phrase when he lights himself on fire calling out loud "Flame on!" To activate his powers.
Appearance: Johnny stands at six foot evenly with bright blonde hair, it is a bit shaggy and messy but he usually keeps it in check. He weighs about 180 pounds and has light and fair skin. He can usually be seen wearing a sweat shirt and some plain looking pants. But Reed Richards helped design some suits that Johnny could wear to try and avoid burning his clothing. Since this has happened by accident on more than one occasion where he accidentally burnt it. He often is seen wearing them while he is apart of the Avengers or Fantastic four as they are a bright blue costume and also have a large 4 on it on his chest representing the Fantastic Four.

History:
Johnny's childhood life and growing up was usually a happy one, he always remembered having his sister around and he looked up to her. Especially in times of need, or when he needed someone to talk too if no one else was around. Their parents Franklin and Mary Storm tried to provide them a sheltered and happy life for their younger days. But Johnny still remembers bringing the awful news that would bring the family crashing down around them. The two siblings lived in Long Island, but when the night came for Dr. Storm to be honored at a late dinner, an argument increased while they were driving toward it, and since he was so angry he lost control of his driving and the car collided with an on coming semi truck.
Franklin escaped the crash but his wife hadn't been so lucky, his wife had been seriously injured and she lost the ability to move from her cervical nerves. She was paralyzed from the waste down, and Franklin was left with the guilt, Sue often took care of their mother along with her assistants that were around constantly. Though Johnny felt helpless most of the time, he did his best to try and talk to her when they got the chance, fearing that she may not be around for much longer. He tried his best to be helpful and make sure that their mother's last few days were at least meaningful.
It wasn't long before their mother's passing came, but to make it bearable and easy on themselves, Sue would often walk with him to and from school. She always found time to take care of him and make sure that he still managed to keep at least a smile on her face. Their father was starting to become abusive, especially towards his sister and often times he still remembered hearing the yelling that went on behind doors. Those nights he didn't sleep and often wondered what went on, but still he knew that wasn't his business, if Sue didn't want to talk about it, that was fine with him. There was one severe fight that had been so bad with Sue and their father that it managed to lock them up, and by that time Sue and Johnny were once again separated as he was put in with foster parents.
Even with the constant reminder of what happened to his mother, Johnny started growing increasingly curious about cars and started to get into them. The accident never detered him once away from racing cars, he loved the speed and loved the excitement that came with them. And just maybe with all of that he would be able to become a racer one day.
At one point Reed Richards approached the two siblings, proposing to collect samples of a space cloud. While the experiment was going on, Sue's wedding towards Victor Von Doom had gone on but it went terribly wrong. The event struck the four members, Victor Von Doom, Ben, Reed, and as well as Johnny. As he awoke he found himself with the ability to use fire powers and manipulate them to his will. At first it was difficult managing to contain the flames, they were tough and one of the toughest challenges was the part where he could consume his entire body. He couldn't touch things without sending them bursting into flames, but with concentration and a sharp will he managed to successfully do it. It wasn't long before Johnny even thought of a name for himself and wanted to call his code name the Human Torch.
The five moved into the Baxter Building calling it their headquarters. Johnny quickly liked his new home but gradually the others realized that there was a problem and they wanted to try and revert back to their normal lives without powers. Victor however grew increasingly mad and loosing his sanity as he blamed Reed for the accident that caused him to become what he was. They managed to stop Victor before things got too horrible and dangerous, but in the process, Sue left the Fantastic Four and joined the Avengers. With this loss, Johnny was heart broken and upset. But he has recently picked up his life again with his powers, joining the Avengers as a part time job and as well as going to college. It's tough juggling a super hero life and as well as college but so far he doesn't seem to mind it.
Super Powers:
Pyrokinesis: Johnny has the mental ability to use fire powers. He is able to transform heat energy and transform his physical body into flames, or even parts of his body into the fiery like substance. The cellular energy that Johnny is able to use is called Adenosine triphosphate or ATP, after being bombarded by the cosmic rays, it triggered a specific genetic code rearrangement to form a new molecule called adenine ribo hepatophosphene. Another ability that he has been able to do is his cells are able to utilize this extra energy by converting it into a moderate density plasma like state by his subconscious and can be regulated at will. When enough energy has been consumed, Johnny will revert back to his normal state and exhaust himself.
Plasma form: He has the ability to envelop his entire body with fiery plasma from within and without harming himself. Usually when he is aflame his heat temperature rises from 780 degrees F and can raise it much higher in temperature. He can raise hi flame height anywhere from 1 to 5 inches, and some times a bit more with a large amount of concentration. In this form projectiles usually melt and go right through him without causing any harm.
Fire manipulation: He can also generate shapes of fire with his will, off of any point of his body. He can create long streaks, streams, spheres, or even more complex images like sky writing. The objects usually burn for about 3 minutes before going out. The temperature of these objects is generally around 2,800 degrees F.
Nova Flame: Johnny refers to his highest points and highest temperature in his fire called the "Nova Flame." The exact temperatures that he can use are unknown but he can stay within this point for a few hours. And with enough training he can do almost half a day if needed. He can release this amount of energy almost causing a war head like force of destruction. This ability uses almost all of it, except for the small part that is needed to keep him alive. He usually needs about 12 hours before recovering from such a feet.
Flight: Johnny has the ability to fly with his fire powers. He can usually lift about 180 pounds with his strength or carry two small children while he's in the air with ease. He can fly for several hours at a time without growing tired or forcing to stop and rest.
Immunity to Heat: With Johnny's flames he is able to resist heat. Most of his fire powers usually absorb the heat and he usually doesn't notice it for awhile since he's so used to flames.
Weaknesses:
Water: Johnny's biggest weakness is water, if he is dowsed in water or a fire extinguisher upon high pressure they will usually be put out. this has caused him to have a slight fear of water after being dowsed with it for so long over the past few years. Johnny can often be seen 'steaming' in the rain if he tries to use his fire powers while he's out in the rain. Often times he will try to avoid going outside in storms where he know he won't be able to handle it.
Burning someone: Though it's more of a fear, Johnny's always been afraid that he might accidentally burn someone he's close too. He'd never be able to forgive himself if he burned his sister or a close friend.
Only Human: Johnny can usually stay aflame for about 24 hours without taking a break. However if he gets knocked unconscious that mental state with his flames usually breaks and he will return to normal. If there is a device nulling his powers or preventing them from working, he can't use them.
