Large fluffy clouds filled the sky as it was first thing in the morning. The sun was starting to rise as they were filled with golden rays and red ones as well. It was an interesting set of colors and he would give anything to see this sight more than once in his life time. He lifted up his red wing glider and took off with all of the force he could muster. “Let’s do this Redwing! We’ll show them what it’s like to fly.” He said with a grin on his face as the young cadet used all of his strength to push himself off the ground. He heard Redwing let out a falcon like shriek it was almost a battle cry.
After the two lifted off a voice came on over the com link as the partners were listening to the SHIELD operative on the other side, “Alright boys let’s see what you can do. There are holographic rings put up that you have to fly through. If you miss any one of them given in the allotted time you need to redo it from the start. Got that?” The female voice asked.
“Yes I’ve got that…sir…I-I mean ma’am sorry about that!” Sam said trying to recover from that mistake that he made. He heard an unamused huff on the com link that she didn’t like that. “Oops.” He whispered softly.
“Give him a break ma’am he’s still new to this, he’s not going to learn everyone’s name by the end of this ride.” Another man’s voice said. “We’ll be monitoring yourself, Falcon and as well as Redwing’s to make sure you’re doing this right…Alright…Ready…set…go!” He ordered as Falcon took off about as fast as they could to try and complete the first run towards the first ring. Hopefully in a decent time since he knew the clock was ticking. And right behind him was his bird friend, Redwing was right next to him the whole way and it looked as if the falcon had only flapped his wings once to find an air current. But he was going to need his wits about him for this whole course. Not to mention there were plenty of others out there who were probably watching this aerial flight.
