Bethany eyed up her target and couldn't help wonder what she was getting herself into, but she also knew the importance of taking a stand and not backing down. It was all well to let someone go but this was different, she needed to point out to this person that SHIELD were not cowards and that they had a spine.
" Defeat is in the mind, if you think you can't win. Well then you have lost the battle before it has even started," Bethany replied as she hit her boosters to take flight, making herself a moving target, " Anyway didn't your demon mommy ever teach you to never underestimate your enemy,"
With that a green light flashed to signal that the chain gun was ready, no sooner had it flashed did Bethany release a round upon her target and with luck take him down before it had even started. But luck was not on her side asy Alice gave a warning.
" Disengage combat, I repeat Disengage combat, unknown energy located surrounding target."
" Did he feel anything ?" Bethany demanded.
" Unknown, but signs show he took one direct impact and is showing little to no damaged, Disengage combat,"
Bethany was half tempted to override Alice's judgment, but she knew better and trusted her opinion.
" All personal," Bethany screamed, " Fall back, disengage,"
One by one the surrounding teams quickly gave the word they were falling back further, all but one and that was Anya.
"Anya fall back," Bethany waited a reply, "Anya come in, we're falling back, can you read me?" "ANY GET THE HELL OUT OF THE AREA. DO YOU COPY."
" Her comms seems to be turned off," Alice's reply send a shiver down Bethany's spine as she realised how much trouble she was in and it made her regret not letting them escape. But Anya was her partner and she couldn't leave her now on her own.
" Keep sending Anya the warning to fall back, till then I'll buy us some time."

Well that was a relief, as things started to turn in their favor, Scarlet noticed that Bethany was starting to retreit, but it was clear she wouldn't leave Anya behind like a true SHIELD agent. Ironwoman seemed anxious and ready to leave as soon as she got the chance, but Arana had other options in this fight. She seemed to think that he'd listen to her, Scarlet wasn't so sure or so keen that a SHIELD agent talking to them was the best idea. After all it was Iron Woman who came with guns blazing into the hangar and messed everything up for them. He was going to get out with a plan thanks to Sue storm but it had been literally shot down.
Before Scarlet could make his move to head back to the portal, Arana struck first as she tackled him to the ground. He was surprised at how tough she was...she was really tough for another person who had spider powers. The pounding on his back didn't hurt too much, by now the stun gun that he had felt from earlier had pretty much healed up from his healing factor. Any other injuries that he had gained would probably heal within the hour. He grunted as his back hit the ground, his round red eye parts of his mask looked back at Arana. She may have not seen it but he was annoyed big time.
"Fine you want the truth." Scarlet said as he had his stingers out to defend himself since he knew he might need them. But if he wanted any sort of talking with Arana he knew he better put them away. A familiar noise could be heard as they disappeared in his wrists, any blood that formed was quickly taken care of by his healing factor in a matter of minutes. The music was still a pain as always, but it seemed to be calming down as Ironwoman was starting to retreat. Anya would leave as soon as she got the information she wanted, but he felt like he was being interrogated all over again.
"Last night I was supposed to infiltrate one of the buildings that belonged to Sue Storm, she was one of my..." He was trying to figure out one of the right words to use here. "Acquaintance." He said not entirely trusting her. But if her coms were off, Blackheart and Ironwoman wouldn't hear a thing and that he knew was important. He wanted it to make it look like he had done things here, at least to get on Blackheart's good side.
"I got caught before I could get anything out of it. The building was high on security and they sent me to a hangar where we talked for a bit. She had a plan that I'd escape but at the cost of..faking a few deaths. Not one security or SHIELD member got killed tonight because of a promise I made. Now I just want to get home to fulfill a second promise I made to her. But that is only between me and her." He admitted as he looked at Arana with a serious tone in her voice. She better believe him for what this day had caused him and his heart pounded in his chest from all this running. "But your friend up in the sky came with guns blazing and ruined it." He explained pointing a red gloved hand towards Ironwoman, so she'd get the idea.

Blackheart grunted as he felt the impact of the bullets grazing his hide, giving a visible wince but managing to shrug off the pain. He had spent years enduring the different weapons of mortals for some time now and it never amazed him that often times they failed to do much damage unless they had some kind of form that could harm or weaken him. But, that didn’t mean Blackheart wasn’t capable of feeling some kind of pain each time, there were just some more than others he could revive from faster than normal. Bullet wounds in particular were one.
But he turned his head as he saw the SHIELD agents retreating, making the demon chuckle as he turned towards Bethany with a look of wicked triumph, “Oh my, am I giving the great SHIELD cold feet? I thought you weren’t a bunch of cowards little agent. Or, perhaps you are finding yourself far out of your element, or is it out of your league these days? I lose track.” Blackheart taunted, giving the woman a cold look that would probably unnerve most faint of heart. Of course, she seemed to have quite a bit of spirit and determination enough to keep fighting which was probably the one thing that wasn’t making the black hided demon so annoyed at the loss right now.
“Let’s dance then.” Blackheart said as he started to concentrate energy towards his palms in the shape of orbs, narrowing his burning red eyes towards Bethany as he fired one towards her direction.

Yes, Anya was being stubborn, probably just as much as Kaine was. She knew a lot of things were at risk right now, probably for all parties involved and she wanted to avoid further conflict than what was necessary. She didn’t budge, didn’t attack, only glaring down at Scarlet Spider behind her white colored eyes which obscured the top part of her face. She waited, perhaps not with the greatest patience with all things considered but nevertheless she gave him time.
And he finally submitted, a bit relieved when his stingers also retracted. Anya listened intently, giving him an unconvinced frown when he stated him and Sue were only acquaintances when she had a feeling they were more than that, most likely unexpected friends. She didn’t need super senses or telepathy to know that Scarlet Spider was trying to hide more things than he probably would care to admit. Certainly had to be quite the burden to keep so many things hidden on top of an identity and such. That was very clear but Anya wouldn’t press the matter on his concern for Sue Storm, and it was clear he wouldn’t go to so much trouble to protect her if they didn’t have a closer bond than simply just meeting one another.
“That’s all we wanted to know Scarlet.” Anya said, her tone becoming a bit more friendly and even having an apologetic edge. “I wanted to avoid Bethany resorting to the use of force, but she is more trigger happy than I am, among many other agents being the same. I just want to see that no one is being wrongly accused of something and do the right thing. Maybe I can convince Bethany to give you the benefit of the doubt.” She told him as she stood, grabbing his arm and easily helping him to his feet before stepping back. Deep down she felt bad that Kaine had to go through all this trouble and that things had escalated as they did, but there was no changing it now. “Perhaps I can help investigate what’s going on Scarlet, and keep my fellow agents in check.”
With that, Anya quickly turned back to what was going on, realizing the other SHIELD teams were beginning to retreat. Turning on her coms, she realized Bethany’s AI, Alice, was trying to contact her, “Sorry Bethany, but I had to do something. I got what we needed and all of what Scarlet Spider knows, so we can get moving.” Anya finally responded as she sprinted back towards their fight as well.
