Hybrid is named due to the combination of four Symbiotes that make up his demonic looking form. The symbiotes come from another planet and are generally considered peaceful at one point, that was until they came to Earth. Found by a scientist and initially given peaceful experiments to discover more about them this soon changed when the Russian Government learned of their existence and abilities. Their experiments twisted and changed the four symbiotes who turned into one and eventually came under the partnership of a SHIELD Vault officer called Scott Washington who eventually died while Hybrid was an acting SHIELD agent. Saddened and angered at the loss, Hybrid went rogue and left SHIELD, now recently living in Los Angeles as its acting hero and villain all in one. Only problem is, Hybrid must deal with a fractured mind and four personalities.

Valrulfur was once known as the Asgardian warrior and palace guard Forseti Eriksson before his untimely death in a battle against the Frost Giants protecting two young children that turned him into an Asgardian werewolf. Taken from the gates of Valhalla, minutes away from feeling the embrace of death, Forseti was roped into a contract and deal with Hela in which he became one of her Death agents. Given a small portion of Garm's power, the guardian of Hela's realm, he was renamed and given new powers in which he now has. He has served as her agent for 150 years and was only in recent years been given freedom to move about outside Asgardian realms where he became part of the Light Brigade after being brought to Battleworld. Since joining them, Valrulfur has struggled in finding his true self and has become darker in his personality and only retains a small portion of who he is.
