He enjoys life and tends to think deeply about important matters, while maintaining a sense of humour. A strong belief has developed within him that humanity has great potential to do be a positive force in the universe and he will do anything he can to protect humans.
Rick Jones comes across as a happy go lucky young man with great musical talent and a passion for the ladies. However he is actually quite insecure. He is an orphan and always seems to seeking out stable relationships and parental figures, especially superheroes who serve as replacement father figures. He is sarcastic and fancies himself a rebel, often defying authority figures.
Appearance:
Despite being a Kree Mar-Vell looks like a tall, blonde, fit, human. He is 6'2" tall, weights around 240 and has blue eyes. While quite comfortable in his costume he realizes this sometimes makes humans nervous and will change to normal clothes in order to blend in. He often uses the alias Dr. Walter Lawson.
Rick Jones is a handsome young man who dresses casually, often found in jeans and a leather jacket. He has brown hair and eyes. He is 5'9" with an athletic build and weighs in at about 165. He is rarely without a guitar or other musical instrument.
Family Tree:
Mar-vell has no living relatives.
Rick is an orphan who went out on his own. He is old friends with many of the Avengers, having for a time served as Bucky to Captain America. His is also friends with the Hulk and Bruce Banner.
History:
Mar-Vell was a highly accomplished Kree Warrior at a very young age. He was sent on a scouting mission to plan a conquest of earth with a superior officer and a navigator who was his lover. Upon reaching and exploring earth he grew to admire humans and conspired with his lover to avoid the enslavement of the planet. This was discovered by his superior who also coveted his mate. A battle ensued and Mar-Vells lover was killed. Mar-Vell was now a traitor to the Kree empire and a exile on earth.
Mar-Vell was later trapped in the negative zone with no apparent chance to escape. He eventually developed physic powers and influenced Rick Jones to put on the powerful Kree nega bands which joined their souls and allowed them to switch places.Mar-Vell has no living family. They co-exist now in this way. Although they are close and trust each other they seek out ways the they can both exist in the normal world separately so they can return to their individual destinies.
Rick Jones was orphaned when quite young. He fled a school for troubled children as a teenager and began life as a drifter. On a dare he drove out to the gamma bomb test site and it was Bruce Banner's heroic act of saying his life that created the Hulk. Rick became a friend and long time companion of the Hulk and spent quite some time hanging around with the Avengers. While with the Avengers he even took on the role of Bucky for a time before Cap decided he was not talented enough for the position and that he could not bear the thought of having Bucky die a second time. Spurned by Cap Rick left the Avengers to pursue his musical career and eventually became Mar-Vells counterpart. He doesn't let his attachment to Mar-vell cramp his style one bit.
Super Powers:
Mar-Vell:
Augmented Physiology. Zo had greatly enhanced Mar-Vell's condition beyond his initial regular limits, making him strong enough to crush boulders, resist heavy impacts, and move even faster than ever before. Under the influence of Eon, his bodily frame was augmented further still. With the aid of the Kree Nega-Bands, he was further empowered both physically and dynamistically.
Bolstered Strength. At Zo's temperance, Captain Mar-Vell's base strength level subsequently became sufficient for him to lift (press) at first 10 tons, later 15 tons; this enabled him to smash known almost-unbreakable Kree elements such as daxilium. Eventually, the maximum amount of weight that he was capable of lifting (pressing) was further bolstered, around 50 to 60 tons, and for short periods of time, he could augment his strength further still, but the actual limits to which he could extend his strength have never been clarified.
Bolstered Durability. Mar-Vell's tolerance for blunt trauma was also strengthened, to where he was able to widthstand a full force blast from Iron Man's repulsor rays or blasts from Ronan's universal weapon, and trade blows with the likes of the Man-Slayer while himself emerging unscathed. Eventually, he became resilient enough to resist the impact force of a Kree "Uni-Blaster," and he was even able to hold his own in combat against Namor McKenzie, the Sub-Mariner, for extended periods.
Bolstered Speed. Mar-Vell could fly at speeds ranging from faster than 7 miles per second while in a planetary atmosphere to light speed while traveling through space. He was fast enough to keep pace with Monica while in light form; he could also dodge laser fire, rapidly construct fortifications using his powers, and casually fly to the other end of the sun in seconds.
Flight. Mar-Vell also found that he could fly without the need of the rocket belt that had been part of his Kree uniform, having the ability to travel through the infinite void of space at "translight"/supra-luminal (faster-than-light) speeds unaided.
Cosmic Awareness. Captain Mar-Vell's most impressive power was his "Cosmic Awareness," which he received from Eon. This ability allowed him to know exactly what he needed to know at any moment. This could range from what his current location was to discovering an opponent´s weakness; he first demonstrated it by realizing that not only that certain details of the special uniform with which the Supreme Intelligence had honored him for preventing its destruction had been altered but also that Eon had transformed his previously silver-white hair to blond. This power alone made Captain Mar-Vell a force to be reckoned with, but its exact nature and scope have never been clearly defined. It might have been somewhat comparable to Spider-Man's "spider-sense" and to Mantis's awareness of psychic "vibrations," but its scope was far greater than either of those.
Absorption and Manipulation of Radiation/Energy. Dr. Benjamin Savannah's radiation treatment of Rick Jones had altered Mar-Vell's genetic structure in such a way, that not only could he absorb energy from outside sources, be they personal like the Nega-Bands or ambient such as cosmic sources, but also convert and manipulate it for various uses. He eventually came to rely on solar power rather than the bands for flight, and in flight, he would leave a glowing trail, resembling a star-field, behind him.
Nega-Band Based Energy Absorption. Mar-Vell also demonstrated the ability, drawn from the Nega-Bands, to absorb energy into himself without harm.
Healing/Restoration. Captain Marvel would eventually learn that he could use solar/photo-ionic energy used to empower him as a means to accelerate his own recovery process. A skill initially utilized through use of his Nega-Bands, he came to realize he could heal himself through his natural ability to absorb and metabolize solar energy. Using the Nega-Bands, he could redistribute absorbed photon power to heal as well as reinvigorate others. This power would not, however, work on the lung cancer he contracted from the nerve gas he had proved unable to avoid breathing in during his fight against Robert "Nitro" Hunter.
Solar Energy Metabolics. Mar-Vell possessed the ability to metabolize solar energy and convert it for a variety of uses, including conversion of the light of the sun and stars into different forms of light and energy.
Flight. While he retained his ability to fly, when doing so using solar power rather than the Nega-Bands, Mar-Vell found that he would leave behind a glowing trail that resembled a star-field.
Star-Field. In certain ways Captain Marvel could utilize his star trail in a similar revenue to Lightspeed of the Power Pack, in that he could carry others along with him while in flight.
Solar Sustenance (Starvation & Thirst).
Photon Energy Blasts. Captain Mar-Vell could project photon energy blasts.
Energy-Enhanced Strike. Captain Mar-Vell was also able to channel the said energy behind his blows to increase their striking power, once employing this power to knock out the Super-Skrull with one punch.
Virtual Invulnerability. Mar-Vell's body was subjected to bullets, buildings being dropped on it, fire (which destroyed his uniform) and beatings from being such as Thanos, Thor, the Destroyer, the Watcher etc and while he would occasionally be rendered unconscious none of these attacks seemed to pierce his skin or do him any permanent damage.
Minor Molecular Control. Mar-Vell demonstrated the ability to use absorbed energy to transform the regular clothes he wore in Earth disguise into his uniform, and vice versa.

Rick Jones:
Normal human but very fit and knows how to fight. Also a very talented singer and plays several instruments quite well.
Weaknesses:
At the current time Mar-Vell and Rick are bound together via the Kree nega bands. Only one of the two can exist in this universe at a time while the other waits in the negative zone. The transfer is accomplished by bringing the bands together. The two can sense what the other is seeing and can communicate telepathically at all times. While Mar-Vell is ambivalent about being in the negative zone, Rick resents it and is reluctant to trade places with Mar-Vell unless he absolutely has to. Mar-Vell is bound by a strict warrior's code of honour and has a very self sacrificing personality. He has a deep hatred of his traditional enemy the Skrull. Mar-Vell's body is inflicted with cancer (the Kree call it the Blackend) which is held in check by the nega bands. If they were removed the cancer would begin to advance again and he would only ave a few months to live. If Rick was drunk or high at the time of the change over this negatively impact's Mar-Vells co-ordination.
