Personality: Skyla is best described as your typical rebellious teenager who has a lot of inner anger. She has no respect for authority or authority figures, finding them the ones who simply want to enact unnecessary rules and regulations to keep young people like her under raps and constantly ensuring they are made into disciplined bores. Skyla is more along the lines of someone who likes causing trouble and mayhem whenever she can, often resorting to vandalizing, breaking into places, robbery, and destroying property. She is a hooligan with no true sense of direction and seems to act out in a phase that others would think she lacks discipline and any proper manners.
Additionally, Skyla also has a lot of pent up anger. Part of this comes from her feral mutant nature along with a lot of negative experiences in her short life to the point she sometimes snaps at others with the slightest provocation and will lash out when she is an annoyed state. She has no true qualms in harming others and has gradually grown to show the early stages of being a high functioning sociopath with seeming to get along with most people but is antisocial, cruel, and lacks any empathy or compassion. This leads to some giving her a wide girth to avoid being struck at and often shows that Skyla is already crude, harsh, and somewhat sadistic, showing some pleasure in causing others discomfort or pain.
But due to her young nature, some think that Skyla could potentially be led out of such negative emotions. She is in a very fragile stage in her life of dealing with her still manifesting mutation, hormones from puberty, and a young mind that can still be molded, it's just a matter of who that molder will be.
Appearance: Skyla is a young woman who stands at 5'2" who is slightly lanky and lean in appearance with visible muscle due to her aerial adaptation. Since she was born she has had pale gray skin, wide green eyes, and bat-like ears with a darker gray furry mane around her neck. Her appearance is still that of someone caught between that of a young teenager and older teenager with some visible baby-like features to her showing she still is growing. She has visibly long canines and fanged teeth, black bat-like wings with gray translucent wings, and four fingered hands with sharp claws and clawed feet. Her hair is a dark gray like the fur mane she has with natural black highlights.
Her attire usually consists of mid-driffs and capris or shorts, usually being nothing too restricting and that allows her wings to be free to move. She tends to favor wearing different types of work out clothes as they tend to keep her cool and the most unrestricting material, most especially sports wear and sandals. On other occasions she goes without shoes due to her claws using tearing them up and feeling uncomfortable.

History: Skyla is young teenager born in Cherryville, Kansas coming from a long line of mutants on her father's side. She is one of those who is a several generation mutant where the line skips every other generation, and in this case it was passed onto her but her father was embittered by not getting the mutant gene and only being a carrier. Things didn't help with the fact that Skyla's mother was in fact scared and hostile of mutants in general and initially almost didn't marry Derrick before she learned he disowned his mutant parent. But with both being human Derrick and Mia expected the less chance of a mutant child and perhaps break the cycle in his family.
Unfortunately, once Mia had her oldest daughter they were horrified to discover she was in fact a mutant, displayed in her unusual eyes, skin, ears, and furry mane plus her clawed four fingered hand and feet. Disgusted but unable to entirely decide on what to do with the child they decided to keep her but showed a very cold demeanor around the young Skyla as she grew. Initially she didn't understand why her parents were so cruel, doing everything she could to try and gain affection from them but the only affection she ever got was cold tones and cruel remarks. When she went to school it wasn't much different save for a few of the children and teachers who showed sympathy, but some did treat her like everyone else and saw her as just another human being. But this did little to alleviate the mental and emotional abuse at home and the peers that teased and called her names began to also wear her down.
By middle school, Skyla began rebelling to authority and when her wings finally fully manifested at twelve she began using this as a way to escape home and cause trouble, often nearly getting caught by police. After a few months of this though her luck ran out and she was caught breaking into sports store and taken home by two police due to her age, but after an initial inspection of the girl's wounds they found them unrelated to anything usual and her rebellious nature began to make them suspicious. Upon arrival, her parents' behavior didn't help as they seemed to care little for what their daughter did but the fury in her father's eyes made Skyla actually hide behind one of the officers, showing her bravado to crumble and the officers decided to arrest the parents on suspicion of child abuse and neglect and took Skyla and her then ten year old younger sister to Child Social Services.
Their parents were found guilty and charged, leaving the two sisters with little option but to go to their paternal uncle who didn't hesitate to take them in but in order to help Skyla he sent her to the newly formed mutant school so she could come to understand what she was and her abilities. Though grateful, she didn't quite settle in that easily, feeling bored, restless, and unable to end old habits, causing her to often sneak out of the school a few times before being reprimanded and given more detention and training as punishment. After a while Skyla did show promise of changing and began to make better use and understanding of her powers over the next two years before she began to grow fed up with trying to see the ways of the X-men's ideals. Quite frankly, her experiences gave her a negative view of humanity as it was and she soon left to seek membership with the Brotherhood.
Instead, she came across a disguised Blackheart who sensed her potential darkness, deciding to take her under his wing instead and bringing her to his casino in Las Vegas, Nevada to join his Dark Syndicate under the guise she could get revenge. At the same time he sought to have her train under a fellow mutant within the group.
Super Powers:
Bat Physiology: Skyla is a mutant born with the physiology of a bat. This has given her pale gray skin, black bat ears that are gray on the inside, black bat-like wings with light gray membranes, and sharp teeth with elongated canines. Her eyes are also lacking pupils, being wide and green in color but poorly suited to the day and allow her to see better at night.
+Aerial Adaptation: Due to her flying capabilities, Skyla has lighter bones than most humans allowing her an easier time to fly and make her weigh far less than normal, having little to no fat on her body. Her lungs are also larger to the point of enabling her to take greater amount of oxygen than most humans and being able to adapt to lower atmospheric pressures when in flight.
+Wing Manifestation: On her back Skyla has two 10-foot long wings that reach to 20 feet when fully spread. The wings are separate from her arms unlike most other bat-like characters but are still muscular enough to allow her to fly and carry one other passenger. But they are not flexible enough to be hidden under most clothing and are slightly more delicate than those with feathered wings, though she does have additional wing-claws on the elbows of the wings as a secondary measure.
+Limited Sonokinesis: Skyla has limited control over sonic energy, most specifically her own vocal cords. She can send out sonic cries of varying frequencies that she has learned to control and change in pitch that allow her to create powerful sonic blasts capable of causing people to be blown back off their feet to a frequency only certain animals can hear. She is capable of making the pitch to a point someone's ears can begin to hurt and bleed, temporarily deafening someone, or causing disorientation and vertigo. She has also found to be able to use her sonic scream to be able to serve as a secondary way to fly while her wings are held aloft in gliding which she sees as helping to preserve some energy when she flies.
++Echolocation: Skyla can extend her use of sonokinesis to emit a few different frequencies in which help her locate objects or people, often with the sound waves bouncing back to her and directing her through hearing. She can also emit a special frequency that enables her to get a map of the area for the sound waves that work in the same way. She relies heavily on this as her eye sight is generally poor during daylight or in bright areas.
+Acute Hearing/Smell/Night Vision: Due to her physiology, Skyla has exceptional hearing and smelling, which is acute enough to hear noises from several yards away and tracking a specific scent above others. This has made her an excellent tracker and is perhaps more acute due to the fact her vision is relatively poor save for at night where she can see with perfect clarity in the pitch black.
+Superhuman Agility: Skyla's exceptionally agile on land and in the air, showing a great bit of maneuverability and acrobatic skill when it comes to flying but is fairly maneuverable on the land as well. She is capable of difficult acrobatic and aerial maneuvers that most would take time to learn and has proven herself formidable in the air.
+Regenerative Hibernation: Skyla can go for periods of time where she must hibernate after sustaining quite a bit of damage, whether it's from a nasty illness, severe wounds, or something like poisoning or use of chemicals. This allows her body to take time to regenerate to the point of broken bones being healed faster than normal, fatal wounds healing fairly quickly, and her body expelling foreign bacteria or viruses.
+Claws/Teeth: As a result of her mutation, Skyla also has elongated canines and sharply curved, durable claws that she uses in close combat often being able to tear into flesh and sinew without problem. Her claws can also tear into some weaker metals and leave marks on such things as stone.
Weaknesses:
+Skyla's wings are not nearly as strong as say Angel or Ikarus who both have feathered wings, enabling them to be torn, damaged, and broken if she is not careful.
+Her smell and hearing are also acute enough that they can be a liability, making certain sounds just as harmful to her as they are to someone else with even her own sounds being capable of being turned against her and certain smells are known to affect her.
+Her sight is especially poor, making her legally nearly completely blind in the day or brightly lit areas, which causes her to rely on her other senses.
+In order to heal faster than normal, Skyla must be in a state of hibernation otherwise she heals as any normal human being but when in this state she must find a protected area or have someone watch over her as her hibernating state leaves her vulnerable to further attack and most serious wounds, illnesses, etc. take little over two weeks in total to heal while minor nuisances take a few days.
+Due to Skyla still also being young, her powers are not quite fully developed and therefore she hasn't fully tapped into her potential thus far.
