Blackheart
"Legion"
Name: Blackheart
Nicknames: Son of Mephisto, Prince of Hell
Gender:Male
Age: Unknown
Actor/Actress Comic Appearance
Affiliation: Dark Avengers
Personality: If someone were to describe someone as a nightmare dressed like a daydream then Blackheart is your man. Blackheart is generally a smooth talking, seemingly humble person who seeks to simply have a conversation and enjoys having a good time. Though this is quite true this humbleness and seemingly friendly nature is mainly a front. It's his way to put others at a false sense of security that he cares about them and that he is just seeking to "help" someone get through their problems. In reality, he likes to manipulate and control people with a sadistic glee that would make possibly even Loki give Blackheart some room. Talking and messing with people is something of a game for Blackheart, a way to earn their trust and pull them into his clutches.
Thus, Blackheart is a person who likes to slowly poke and prod people, trying to know them and learn their darker side. He is an intelligent being so he knows there are ways to make people tick and he likes to use his silver tongue and soothing, hypnotic voice to draw people in like a spider drawing prey into a web. Pain, suffering, anger, all the negative feelings bring him a pleasure a mortal being could never understand and something he thrives on which is why he loves causing so much chaos and mayhem. He tricks, uses, and discards people at his leisure, feeling they are only a means to an end. To him, humanity and the rest of the universe are full of pawns of which to use to his advantage and seek greater power. Because lets face it, Blackheart is power hungry and as the Prince of Hell he knows he's deserving of it, especially his father's.
Unfortunately, Blackheart is not devoid of show aggressive, angered feelings and can be provoked if he feels he has been wronged. He has a nasty temper and tends to destroy things that might be in his sights, often caring little for who or what it is. He shuns away from such things as love, kindness, and friendship, seeing things as weakness and knows they would weaken him. He is fairly guarded and suspicious, causing him to tread carefully in his plans and usually prevents people from outright getting close. To love someone would simply be for the benefits of power as that is all he sees, being close minded but not enough to not see the benefits of using deals and demands to make it to his own ends, showing he is a selfish being who really does have a mostly one-track mind.
Appearance: Blackheart is easily the thing of nightmares, a demon standing at 7 feet height with a visibly muscular physique that shows no fat in the least. His entire form is entirely black like the darkest of nights with a strong hide that appears as if he is wearing an armor molded directly to his form etched with unusual symbols. He has small quills covering his shoulders, arms, legs, and across his collar bones with even long quills that make up his "hair" extending nearly half the length of his body. His hands and feet are clawed and he almost looks like a man with a nightmarish appearance with a prehensile tail, red glaring eyes, pointed ears, and usually no visible mouth.
But with being a demon, Blackheart is not limited to this appearance being able to take a human form at will, both male and female to disguise himself to those around him. He generally favors a male form with black hair but can also take a female form which often also has black hair. His attire tends to be business casual or formal, making many mistake him for a businessman/woman due to the disguises.
Family Tree:
Mephisto (Father)
Malevolence (Sister)
Mephista (Sister)
History: When Blackheart came to be is unknown, though it was somewhere in the late 19th to early 20th century when he was "born". Mephisto became aware of a spot known as Christ's Crown, New York where a town upon the hill had become so saturated with misdeeds of all kinds the attempted assault on a young girl was the final catalyst that enabled Mephisto to draw on all that misdeed to form the being that would become Blackheart. Made from the many tortured souls located here, Blackheart became the new son and another heir to Mephisto, the youngest of two other known siblings. His awakening resulted in the killing of both suspect and victim before Mephisto approached the young demon and took him back to his dimension of Hell to be trained.
While in Mephisto's realm, Blackheart would learn all the tricks of the trade that involved wickedness and evil and become trained in the use of his powers. Of course he was a quick learner and grew quite powerful in his own right, finding himself easily able to compete with his father after a little time went by. But Blackheart didn't reveal his intentions quite yet to take over, instead watching and waiting, learning what he could that his father had to teach. They were lessons he felt he could use later for his own advantages and after years of waiting he was given a test to tempt humans to the realm of his father which he found too easy but it was his first real encounter of the human soul, finding them weak, darkness waiting at the very edges, always on the verge of snapping.
They were weak but useful. Blackheart found that souls could be a great source of power and behind Mephisto's back he gather more souls for himself, not needing their permission to take control and steal, making use of their inner darkness to power himself up. But, the youngest child of Mephisto knew he had to be covert and careful, deciding to serve as one of his father's agents, protectors, and elite demons against those who came for his power or those who tried to stop Mephisto's plans. Often these foes were of the magical or supernatural kind and Blackheart took great pleasure in fighting them, slowly gathering souls along the way and learning how to make use of martial arts and hand-to-hand combat during his time among the humans.
For the next century or two Blackheart operated on the front as a businessman and entrepreneur as his disguise, coming to own the casino in Las Vegas, Nevada that was his home front. He used this to feed on the darkness in humans who came to gamble, got into fights, tempting their secrecy behind closed doors before he eventually felt it was time. Drawing on the power of the souls and misdeeds of humanity he had gathered, Blackheart opened a portal to Mephisto's realm and like his siblings before him sought to wrestle the title of a Hell-Lord and for a time succeeded in outings Mephisto as the ruler. Once he established his ruling, Blackheart became exceptionally powerful and feared in the Underworld and Earth, slowly trying to corrupt others and making them his slaves. His connections reached into the uncertain times of the twentieth century and into the modern 21st.
His ruling though was not to last. Mephisto was finally able to access his realm and with the help of his daughters made an attack on Blackheart, shocking the younger demon and defeating him in single combat through magic and brute force. With Blackheart defeated, Mephisto banished his son to Earth to learn true humility and hope that he would understand his place but the banishment had the very opposite. Powers vastly diminished and his influence now minimal, Blackheart became intent on revenge and gaining power to completely rid of his father once and for all and for the past two years has began seeking villains who hold deep rooted hatred, anger, and need for vengeance to turn into his own "minions". Thus he has helped found the Dark Avengers to be an unsuspecting power source and way to get close to human casualties to empower himself.
Super Powers: Though Blackheart is the son of Mephisto and making him capable of vast supernatural and mystical forces his abilities have been severed due to his connection being cut from Hell by his father. Thus he must rely on his current power set and temporary boosts from the misdeeds of those around him.
+Superhuman Strength: Blackheart is capable of lifting 100 tons without strain, showing himself to be incredibly strong even without access to his father's dimension.
+Superhuman Speed: Blackheart can move at exceptional speeds, being able to move well beyond the finest human athlete and it has been estimated he can move at least 250 mph on foot.
+Superhuman Durability: Blackheart's hide-like skin makes him extremely durable, being able to take high caliber bullets, superhumanly strong individuals, withstand extreme temperatures, and withstand most energy blasts making him extremely difficult to harm. Although there are some abilities that can still affect him.
+Telekinesis: Blackheart can move objects and people with the power of his mind, being capable of sending them flying, slowly compressing or pulling them apart, taking items apart and putting them back together, and lifting a 100 tons of weight. Though this is severely diluted due to being cut off from Mephisto's realm where he would be capable of much more.
++Levitation: Through the use of his telekinesis Blackheart can lift himself and others to simulate flight so long as that weight does no exceed a 100 tons.
+Telepathy: Blackheart is also capable of reading others thoughts, exchanging thoughts with others, or creating mental links to better track or speak with people, animals, or other beings. His telepathy is strong enough he can easily track a hundred minds at once or a single mind across the other side of a planet and block out powerful telepaths with mental defenses, although mental combat isn't particularly his best specialty.
++Limited Mind Control: For most beings, Blackheart is capable of taking of their minds with little effort, usually taking over a hundred humans at once being of no problem unless they have an extremely strong will or someone blocking him out.
+Size/Physical Alteration: Blackheart is also capable of mystically altering his size and appearance. He can grow to little over 20 feet at his highest and shrink to about eight inches at his smallest, which for now is also limited. But he does retain the ability to alter himself to look and sound like other people or alter himself to resemble animals, humans, or other living beings.
+Inter-Dimensional teleportation: Though this power has diminished quite a bit, Blackheart still is capable of opening up dimensional portals through mystical means so long as a dimension has some associate to Earth such as Asgard or other minor dimensions but he also mainly uses this to travel to different places across Earth.
+Energy Generation: Blackheart is capable of tapping into all sorts of energy, often for destructive purposes such as concentrated beams or concussive blasts. He also has been known to absorb and redirect the energy or increase his physical prowess for a limited time.
+Dark Energy Control: Though mostly cut off from access the Dark Dimension, Blackheart retains enough connection to tap into the dark energy to make use of for constructs, armor, shields, and concussive blasts. He also can create minions from these energies but they normally do not last long.
+Regenerative Healing: Like most demons, Blackheart can is capable of regenerating missing limbs, organs and most damage in a quicker time than most. Minor wounds take minutes to heal while his major ones take a few weeks but faster than a normal human. He also is immune to Earth-born diseases and illnesses.
+Slowed Aging: Though once immortal, Blackheart's cut off from Mephisto's realm has left him now in a state of slowed aging, which means he can live for a few thousand years and does not need food, water, or oxygen to survive but he will eventually die.
+Penance Stare Immunity: The Ghost Rider's penance stare has no affect on Blackheart, as being a demon made from the misdeeds of others reliving those misdeeds of the souls that make up his form actually increases his power.
Weaknesses:
+Due to lacking connection to Mephisto's realm at this time Blackheart's powers have been diminished significantly which makes him have to rely on temporary power boosts from the misdeeds on Earth.
+Blackheart may be rather durable but he has shown a weakness to deadly poisons, radiation, chemicals, and acidic substances which actually can weaken or both him to the point he has to retreat.
+Certain powers have also shown to have an effect on Blackheart, especially magic but there are things that can slow him down and some can even cause him decent enough injury.
+Despite all his powers, Blackheart can also gradually grow tired which further weakens him and after a while he must rest or retreat.
+Blackheart is a considerably psionic in his own right but his telekinesis is limited to what he can do with having a weight limit, how much he can lift, compress, and send flying while his telepathy is limited as well and he tends to be unable to outmaneuver more skilled and powerful telepaths.
