Night had settled across the New York Harbor as Kaine walked up on the entrance of the carnival as he looked up with his glasses. He figured going as a civillian with katherine might give them a chance to know each other better. Katherine already knew that he was Scarlet Spider, so there was at least not a worry to hide behind Scarlet Spider around her. He could be himself and that was fine with him. The sunglasses, though he really didn't need them at night helped hide his scar that went down his right eye, he imagined that a lot of people would stare at him for looking so odd. He had gotten the scar a long time ago and it had been with him through most of his life, even costing him a part of his vision which didn't help either.
He walked up to the entrance as the people there were buying tickets. "Heay I'll by two teen tickets." He said as the tender nodded and took the money that he had. Most of the money he had these days wasn't from a job but from being Scarlet Spider. On occasions he went out to catch bad guys who had been put up as wanted by the police, and most of the time it usually worked that he got a decent amount of cash from it making out and it'd help pay for the rent too.
"Here you are sir and enjoy." The woman said as she gave him the tickets. Now came the hardest part. Kaine had offered Katherine a meeting spot underneath the entrance so she could see him easily with the red jacket. It reminded him of his suit a little bit, but no one would suspect that he was out here as a super hero. He tried to keep his identify a secret so no one would know, well except for a select few that he trusted.
"And now comes the tough part, waiting." He said to himself as he sat down on a bench as the minutes ticked by. He hoped Katherine hadn't gotten into any trouble or anything. Otherwise he would've felt guilty. What was supposed to be a fun weekend would turn into a disaster. Suppose he had the spider-man bad luck on his side to. As he sat on the bench he felt someone brush up against him nearly knocking him over. "Heay, watch it!" He said with a sharp glare behind his glasses, his spidey sense hadn't gone off, this wasn't the place for it. But the older looking guy merely laughed.
"Heay pipsqueak did I strike a nerve? You look like small fry if you ask me." He said with a chuckle. It was so hard resisting bringing out his stingers in this situation, to scare the guy half to death but ,he knew that would ruin everything as Kaine sighed.
"Bug off, I'm waiting for my date." He said as the guy laughed, this was going to irritate him so badly that he couldn't do anything here. Sometimes having a secret identity stunk. And eventually he knew the guy would get tired, bored and move on.
