The past few months with the Avengers couldn't have been better for someone like herself. Corrine was far from being a top-notch hero, especially since she had been satisfied in handling her own little part of the United States in handling crime in Atlanta. Crime was just as big of a problem as it was here in New York and sometimes she did worry if she had made the right choice coming here, getting a job at the NYPD Crime Scene labs and joining a heroic team that had allowed her to take up residence. If not for them, especially Pietro Maximoff or Quicksilver, she probably would have changed her mind. Now, there was no turning back. Not so easily anyway.
As of late, however, a part of Corrine was beginning to regret leaving her family so soon. Just a month ago her younger brother had gone missing, his friend only recently released from the hospital when they were ambushed at a track meet. And the possible explanation for it? Corrine has come to assume someone had figured out what she was, making her family a target and her brother maybe only being the start. Such thoughts were plaguing her mind just as often as the concern for crime fighting and doing her part for the Avengers.
Thoughts overwhelmed by these concerns, the young woman decided to make her way to the outside balcony, stepping out as the automatic door slid aside when it detected her approach. Warm spring air soon hit her form, causing the young woman to breathe in deeply before letting it back out, starting the process of calming her racing mind as she came to the railing, carefully leaning against it. Avengers Tower was certainly higher from this point and it did make Corrine a little tense but nothing too bad considering she was a flier. Instead, she focused on the afternoon sights before her, seeing over most of New York towards the Hudson Bay and the horizon beyond.
In other words, it seemed like a good spot to let her thoughts slow down and allow her to consider them one by one rather than trying to consider everything at once. Sometimes, Corrine wondered if this was what it was like to be Peitro or a speedster in general. She couldn't imagine dealing with such racing thoughts twenty-four/seven. But it was only then that Corrine snapped from her thoughts, hearing the movement of the automatic sliding glass door moving behind her, which meant she was no longer alone.

Pietro was glad to see that he was starting to get to know Corrine better. He had been out once again roaming the streets of New York, exploring the place that would probably end up being his home in the future. Germany was so different compared to this giant city and metropolis as the sky scrapers litterally did seem like they climbed and reached out past the heavens. Who would know one day Pietro would be a part of a team that was very famous. "Hm, there's nothing really going on today and that's hard to say for this city." He said realizing the weekend may have been apart of that. Perhaps some of the civillians were away enjoying the weekend away from the big city life.
Deciding it was best to head home before all of his afternoon was gone, Pietro noticed that several of the Avenger members were still here and hadn't gone on vacation or to see family members. "Hello? Is anyone here?" He asked as he looked around. Nope no answer.
Sighing he wondered if this place was going to be empty as well. And that was a bit unusual since someone was always around in the avengers tower. Finally, he did notice a figure standing out on one of the balconies but he couldn't see that it was Corrine until he came much closer. Slowly the door opened as it was sensing his weight. "Corrine how are you doing?" Pietro asked trying to stop himself from using his fast speak which could probably be annoying after awhile. "It's me, Pietro. I was just out and about in the city and it sure does look a bit emptier than normal." Pietro pointed out. "I guess that's what happens when spring comes." He added as he looked over the balcony noticing how high up they were. He could probably climb up the vertical walls. But he didn't want to tempt fate and fall flat on the pavement. That would be unpleasant to anyone who tried.

Hearing Pietro's voice, Corrine perked up slightly and turned slightly to look towards the speedster with a small smile. She hadn't seen him all day and had figured he was busy on a mission or out in the city, knowing by now he didn't exactly like to stay in one place for very long. It probably came with the power of superhuman speed. "Out and about in the city huh. Hope you didn't run into more angry people and almost get into a fist fight again." She teased towards him, knowing the first time they had met it had nearly happened because the guy wanted to be an a-hole, probably from the hustle and bustle of a city life.
Nevertheless, she reached over and rested a hand on his shoulder, "As for answering your first question, I've been alright, maybe a little down in the dumps." She admitted, trying not to think too much of the situation back home, one she had yet to tell the man beside her. They had recently started dating after getting to know one another, something Corrine hadn't exactly expected but didn't mind either. Pietro may have had a temper but he was also not half bad for a person compared to most others she had met back home.
"But how about you? How have things been going?" Corrine inquired, trying to change the subject and hope to avoid telling Pietro the situation at all. She was trying to handle this one alone, trying to use the resources and contacts she was making to hopefully have something pop up by some chance.

"I have been avoiding that for the most part. If I do run into them they can't out run me at least." Pietro said with a soft smile knowing he was probably one of the fastest speedsters around. Of course some of that could've just been his ego. He was glad to see that Courrine was alright or at least doing well. At least that was what he hoped what was happening.
Pietro glanced down at her hand that she put on it, his own was out, not gloved in white from his costume since he was off duty he was wearing civillian clothing. "Aw, well if you want to try you can make some friends with the other avengers here. I know they may be busy with their own things, but you'd be surprised to see who's on it." Pietro suggested knowing that there were other younger superheroes that might be around Corrine's age so she wouldn't feel left out. "Recently we had a few heroes join us with the conditions that were going on. I guess they wanted to help out." Pietro added knowing that Tony Stark had come along at one point to help them out. He didn't seem that bad of a guy and he kept mostly to himself.
"Things are alright Corrine. I'd guess a little bit on the slow side. But lately these wierd demonic things have been appearing all over. SHIELD has been broadcasting it." Pietro said knowing several other SHIELD agents were on it. But perhaps later on they may ask the Avengers to help out. And the Web Warriors were under SHIELD too, so they had plenty of help for it. "I don't know much about the supernatural, that's more Wanda's thing than mine." He said knowing Wanda's powers were based off the supernatural part of superpowers, and it also explained her name Scarlet Witch.

"I think just using half your speed would be more than enough to avoid conflict." Corrine chuckled, knowing full well he would have no trouble out running every day civilian problems. Well, most of them anyway. Sometimes there were problems one could not escape by simply running away, and sadly they all had to face them one way or another, if even sometimes doing it alone seemed the best course of action. "Things going slow? For you?" Corrine gave a mock look of surprise, "Why, that must be a crime for someone who loves living in the fast lane." She said with a playful chuckle, loving to tease the speedster at times when it came to the mentions of things being slow.
But she gave a quick glance towards the door, merely smiling and shaking her head. "I've never been the greatest at making friends Pietro, if not my shyness it has always been due to the result of keeping to myself. Of course, it was due to moving often and a little bullying in school, but nevertheless making friends was never my strong suit." Truth be told, Corrine wasn't quite sure how she would relate to the others on a more personal sense. Her past was not one of grandeur, tragedy, or even unique. She had been a simple small city girl who happened to have her powers manifest much later in life than most mutants. To say she felt out of place would be an understatement.
But her gaze quickly turned back to the silver haired young man, surprised to hear about the concerns of demonic beings popping up. "And here I thought demons, spirits, and the like were best kept to ghost hunters like the Ghost Adventures crew or the Dead Files. But, guess there is no escaping the threat that might be dawning on us." Corrine said, scowling at the thought of facing demons. She had heard they existed but to actually face them...that was an entirely different matter.
